1. How to Request Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your GigShift account and associated personal data using either of the methods below. Your request will be processed within 30 days.
Option A: Delete from the App
- Open the GigShift app and sign in to your account.
- Navigate to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation dialog, then tap Delete Account to proceed.
- Enter your password when prompted to confirm.
Your account will be deactivated immediately and your personal data will be scrubbed from our systems.
Option B: Request via Email
If you are unable to access the app, send an email to support@mygigshift.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your GigShift account. We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.
2. Data That Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed or anonymized:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Profile photo and bio
- Business profile details (business name, description, website, address)
- Contractor profile details (skills, experience descriptions, work area, address)
- Push notification tokens
- Active job listings and pending applications
- Messages and conversation history
3. Data That Is Retained
Certain data is retained after account deletion as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
Financial & Transaction Records — Retained for 7 Years
We are required by tax and financial regulations (including IRS requirements and PCI DSS compliance) to retain:
- Payment transaction history
- Payout records
- Invoice and billing records
These records are stored in anonymized form and cannot be linked back to your personal identity.
Legal & Safety Records — Retained as Required by Law
- Fraud prevention and abuse records
- Dispute resolution records
- Data required to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests
